Fid the key to your child’s success

I know, it’s summer and who want to think about schooling?

But summer is the perfect time to reflect on the past school year.

And plan for the next because it will come round sooner than you expect.

Take a few minutes – it shouldn’t take more than that – to consider these questions.  You don’t have to come up with definitive answers.  Just keep the thoughts in your mind.

  • Is your child happy in school? Ask them.  What would they like to change?
  • Are you happy with your child’s progress or do you want to see more next year?
  • What worked for them (and you) and what didn’t?
  • Where did your child make progress and where might they need/want extra support?
  • Is your child ready for the next school year or do you have some concerns?

Take a moment to think about the type of support your child might need in the coming year.

Will the same old same old work or are you open to a new way of ensuring your child learns?

Maybe it’s time to change from helping with schoolwork to helping your child increase their ability to learn.

What do people say about fishing? Give a man a fish and he is happy for a day.  Teach him how to fish and he is happy for life.

What do you want for your child?
