Many students find learning easy

They understand their teacher, enjoy their lessons and know how to do their homework. They might grumble about their work but don’t get stressed.

They know how to learn.

But for some kids learning is a struggle.

They find it difficult to know what they need to do and how to do it.

They just don’t ‘get it’.

They are not dumb or stupid or lazy.

But homework becomes a hassle.  Kids either check out or get stressed.  Life is miserable for them and for you.

These students are missing, or not using, one or more of the vital skills that lead to learning.

Kids need 12 foundational learning skills if they are to achieve their potential.

They need the physical skills of to have good eyesight and hearing, energy and the ability to organize themselves in space.

They need the emotional skills that help them feel good about themselves, others, their work and the future.

They also need ‘school skills’ such as attention, understanding, processing and production.

Kids – even bright kids – struggle to learn when they don’t have all these skills.

If your child is struggling to learn, if you know your child is bright but not doing well in school, don’t despair.

There is hope.

You can help them develop missing or unused learning skills once you know which of the 12 essential learning skills your child needs to develop.

So, if you struggle to understand why your bright child is underachieving, take a few moments to check on their skills.
